Potential 340B Refund from Zydus Pharmaceuticals

Hospitals and other covered entities participating in the 340B Drug Pricing Program may be eligible for a refund for drugs purchased from Zydus Pharmaceuticals Inc. The pharmaceutical company recently determined that covered entities were charged incorrect rates between January 2012 and December 2014. Zydus will automatically issue refunds through Apexus to covered entities that have overpaid for impacted products by more than $10 in aggregate. Apexus will contact all eligible covered entities by Nov. 30. If a covered entity has overpaid by $10 or less and would like a refund, the entity should contact Zydus. Requests for refunds must be received on or before Dec. 31.

Previously, the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) announced that Heritage Pharmaceuticals Inc. also overcharged some 340B covered entities between April 18, 2008 and Dec. 31, 2014. Refunds from Heritage must be requested by contacting Damian Finio on or before Aug. 1, 2016.
