Two new videos from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) help explain key information about diagnosis and procedure codes in the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems, 10th revision (ICD-10).
The first video provides an overview of ICD-10 features and states that the transition to the new codes will benefit patients and providers. The second video uses diabetes care as an example of how the codes will help providers capture more detailed clinical data to help coordinate patient care.
CMS previously posted additional educational resources to help providers prepare for the Oct. 1 transition to ICD-10.
