The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is accepting applications for the Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) 2015 program year. Eligible providers can apply to participate in the MSSP by creating or participating in an accountable care organization (ACO). The MSSP facilitates coordination among providers and rewards ACOs that are successful in lowering costs while meeting quality performance standards for Medicare beneficiaries.
To apply for the 2015 program year, providers must do the following:
- submit a notice of intent to CMS by May 30
- obtain a CMS user ID to submit an application by June 9
- submit a final application by July 31
CMS has posted information to help providers submit a notice of intent and a toolkit to help providers complete the final application online.
